Growing up on our farm, the number one weed in many soybean fields was common milkweed. Then, we started noticing a weed that looked similar, just with a more narrow leaf.
It was hemp dogbane.

Similar to milkweed, dogbane is a perennial and has a milky, white sap inside the stem.
That liquid is poisonous to humans and livestock!
For that reason and the fact this weed can be a major yield-robber, you’ll want to get it under control.
