Where have we heard this story before?
A new plant gets introduced in the United States, then becomes a nuisance as it spreads all over…
In this case, the plant I’m describing is our Weed of the Week, crabgrass. This is a true story.
In 1849, when the Gold Rush was going on in California, crabgrass was brought in from Europe as a new forage crop for farmers and ranchers. Ultimately, it became a terrible weed that has infested tens of millions of acres.
Fortunately, today we have many more tools to get it under control in your yard and on your farm!
