The biggest weed issues on your farm are likely on field borders and around grass waterways. My recommendation is to spray these areas as your crop is emerging. This will lead to more yield and possibly less expense.
Here’s why.
For more than 30 years on our farm in all crops, we have been doing super-early post-emerge spraying, just with the outside portion of our spray boom. We hit the outside rows, and depending on which herbicide we use, we spray into the fencelines and waterways at the same time.
Plus, we add insecticide to eliminate grasshoppers, stalkborers, cutworms, armyworms, and almost any other harmful bug.
