Product supply issues in the last 5 years are 10 times worse than the supply issues we had in agriculture in the prior 20 years, in my opinion.
With commodity prices high and yields typically increasing year after year, return on investment with most pesticides has been great. Therefore, demand has been high; and manufacturers have struggled to keep up. For 2013, here is a list of many of the products that are already either sold out or are in very tight supply. Our suggestion for you is to talk to your retailer immediately if you are considering purchasing any of these products this year; and since this is not a complete list, you should talk to your retailer about your entire pesticide program for 2013 right now just to make sure you can get what you want and need. You should at least get your name on the product, but the only way to guarantee you will get what you order is to pick it up ASAP. Also, I didn’t list them below, but any new product (e.g. Anthem, Aproach, etc.) will likely sell out early.
INSECTICIDES:
- Force Smartboxes are basically sold out.
HERBICIDES:
- Authority products, including Authority MTZ
- Banvel – Believe it or not, this is going to be tight.
- Beyond
- Extreme
- Glyphosate products – I know this seems crazy, but most glyphosate products are expected to be tight into early summer.
- G-Max Lite is almost sold out.
- Impact will likely sell out soon.
- Laudis is expected to be very tight.
- Liberty is in the worst shape, as we estimate 20 percent more demand than supply.
- Outlook is almost sold out.
- Status is almost sold out.
FUNGICIDES:
- Endura
- Priaxor
